I am glad to share that finally today we have announced that a workshop for Sysadmins, DBAs & DevOps Engineers – called
SQL Server Professional Configuration & Optimisation Workshop will be delivered by my friend André Batista & myself on the 30st of the September 2016, 1 day before the SQLSaturday Porto 2016 main event at ISEP. It is great news that Ivan Campos has decided to invite local speakers for the workshops and I am really excited to deliver it.
This whole day workshop will focus on analysing the current available environment (Virtualisation, Operation System, Permission Settings, Disk Drives), installing and re-configuring SQL Servers on existing installations. We shall dive into the system optimisation with the help of different free tools and scripts, plus we shall measure some of the results with the support tools, such as HammerDB.
No matter if your SQL Server is an on-premises solution or you are running a VM on Azure, we shall provide you with information and steps for getting the best out of your system.
In the end we want to share a script that we are developing for that purpose, that will be a very important facilitator for everyone.
The workshop will be held in English and given that the early bird is less than 130€ with Taxes included, this is an incredible opportunity to learn from both our experiences on how we configure and optimise SQL Server instances.
