Here are more tips:
Build a team with people who are better then you, mix them with up & coming ones.
Build a team with people who have specific knowledge in specific areas that you do not have. Examples: finances, organizational, motivational, documentation, sponsorship. etc.
Get a good photo/video team.
We were blessed by the most amazing Software Developer team guys who are actually amateur photographers. Amateur of course is not the right word, because when you look at the results of what they produced – you will be in awe. For real.

It is totally worth it, hiring an experienced team of people who will help you to have something, worth showing to future Speakers, Sponsors & Attendees.
