Speaking at SQLSaturday Edinburgh (The very first European Business Intelligence Edition)

sqlsat281_webI am extremely happy to be selected as a speaker for the very first Business Intelligence Edition of SQLSaturday in Europe, in Edinburgh (Scotland), which will happen on 14th of June 2014.

Organised by European PASS Director Jen Stirrup, this event hopefully will set up a scene for more Business Intelligence – oriented events across Europe.

I was one of the very few lucky ones to get selected and present at the previous edition and even more humbled to be selected to present there again.

I will be speaking about the Clustered Columnstore Indexes and this will be a deep dive session, so please join me to discus one of the most important improvements of DataWarehousing & Business Intelligence in the SQL Server 2014.

I have to refer to 2 amazing Workshops which will found place 1 day before the main conference – on the 13th June of 2014:
1. Real World SQL Server High Availability Masterclass with Mark Broadbent
2. The Data Analysts Toolkit: Microsoft Power BI and R with Jen Stirrup

I am very strongly considering attending one of those workshops and for sure I can recommend both of them:
– Mark being a top professional and this is a guy who will not give you a half-baked answer, but who will drill it down until getting to a concrete and right answer. Top stuff
– As for the second one with Jen, this is a sure bet for any professional who is looking to get to know some of the most important tools on the BI plateau. Everyone is talking about R for a lot of years and getting a first insight into it is a thing that every respectable BI professional should do. Highly recommended!
